In Spain, meteorological institutes indicate that temperatures have exceeded 40 degrees in some regions. Many people found refuge at the local swimming pool.
“We came early to enjoy the swimming pool, because it will be very hot, and the water will help us withstand the temperature”, explains a Madrilenian, who came with her friend. “We are going to spend the day here because we cannot stay at home, even if everything is closed, let alone in the street,” adds her neighbor.
A similar situation in France… Lyon and other cities have been suffocating for several days already. Strong storms should, however, bring some freshness in the middle of the week.
