ZachXBT, which investigates blockchains, recently made an exciting discovery. On July 10, he tweeted regarding none other than the fact that the Monkey Drainer, which stole nearly $24 million, had something to do with a 16-year-old YouTuber. It claims that before entering the world of crypto scams in July 2021, the scammer, also known as BlueXBT or JB Adventures, built a serious YouTube channel of playful and trolling videos. ZachXBT did some serious work linking the YouTuber to the scam Blockchain investigator ZachXBT linked the scammer to the cool-breeze.etch ENS address, which he had previously shared publicly in a leaked image from his Snapchat account. The same address bought NFT BAYC 8868 in October 2022. However, this address also received over 85 ether from 8 Ethereum addresses linked to Monkey Drainer scams. Monkey Drainer is known for stealing over $24 million in NFTs using a so-called “ice phishing” technique. This tactic does not obtain the victim’s private keys. They trick them into signing a transaction that then gives the hacker control over the user’s capital. A few months ago, Monkey Drainer stole 1,200 ETH worth of NFTs from collections such as BAYC, CryptoPunks, and Otherside. ZachXBT shared screenshots on Discord of the YouTuber known as BlueXBT bragging regarding buying his own BAYC and teaching his co-workers how to do the cheats. But Blue continued his scams following that, but by this time he started using new ENS addresses. He used the stolen money to buy cars, watches, and shoes. In his most recent scams, he stole $61.5K in ETH and $93.3K in USDT tokens from LoveMake.eth. In any case, ZachXBT has now shared what he found out with the victims, in case he manages to deal with Blue in legal proceedings.
