Schallenberg, Sobotka, Edtstadler and now Nehammer: The list of ÖVP recommendations for the FPÖ is getting longer and longer
Vienna (OTS) – FPÖ Secretary General NAbg reacted calmly today. Christian Hafenecker responded to the statement by ÖVP Chancellor Nehammer, according to which he ruled out working with Herbert Kickl following the next election. “The question will not arise at all, because following the expected defeat for the corruption-stricken ÖVP, Nehammer will probably no longer be party leader and he will no longer play a role in the chancellor question. The ÖVP traditionally has a very short half-life when it comes to chairmanship. If Nehammer thinks that he generally does not want to work with Kickl, then he joins the list of current ÖVPers who have also already ruled it out. After the poor performance in recent years, people will be happy anyway if Edtstadler, Karner, Sobotka, Schallenberg and now Nehammer will no longer play a role in this country in the future. Your refusals are, so to speak, direct election recommendations for the FPÖ and Herbert Kickl,” said Hafenecker.
The criticism of the FPÖ chairman – Nehammer described Kickl as a “security risk” – Christian Hafenecker rejected: “Under Herbert Kickl, the number of asylum seekers fell to such a low level in 2018 and 2019 that ÖVP interior ministers can only dream of that. It was obvious that Kickl wanted to eliminate the ‘deep state’ of the ÖVP in the Ministry of the Interior and that was the only reason why he had to vacate his ministerial post at the behest of the ÖVP. Herbert Kickl started in 2017 to put an end to the turquoise-black corruption charge, which has made it a curse for the ÖVP, but also a blessing for the Austrians and their security,” said FPÖ Secretary General NAbg. Finally, Christian Hafenecker, who is convinced that the next Federal Chancellor will be a real People’s Chancellor, whose full commitment applies to the well-being of the local population: “And this People’s Chancellor will be called Herbert Kickl!”
