A man who had barricaded himself with a hostage held the police in suspense Tuesday at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Around 9 a.m., the individual forcibly pulled a woman into a room on the 21st floor of the famous hotel-casino and refused to let her out.
The man also smashed the bedroom window and began throwing several objects, including furniture. Some objects even landed in the hotel swimming pool. This had to be evacuated, as well as part of the building.

The event required the intervention of a SWAT team, to whom the suspect initially asserted that he had a weapon in his possession.
Law enforcement eventually managed to enter the room and arrest the man. No weapon was found in the bedroom.
The woman held once morest her will is safe and sound.
Investigators do not know at this time if the suspect and the hostage knew each other.
