A 44-year-old car driver died in a tragic accident in the Warmbad Villach area on Tuesday followingnoon. At 4:50 p.m., a 20-year-old woman from the Villach Land district drove her car on Villacher Straße B86 in a long right-hand bend over the restricted line and crashed into an oncoming truck, the Carinthia state police said.
The steering and the left front axle of the truck were severely damaged as a result of the collision, so that the truck might no longer be steered. The vehicle crashed head-on into an oncoming car. The 44-year-old driver from the Villach-Land district suffered fatal injuries. The 20-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries. She was brought to the LKH Villach with the rescue. The 25-year-old truck driver suffered minor injuries and required medical treatment.
