The original fiber optic plan remains: Steyr is to become a gigabit city

2023-07-11 13:08:05

The pre-marketing target for the first expansion area in Steyr has already been exceeded. The sales staff are currently on the move in the second expansion area.

Steyr (OTS) – The interim balance is correct and Steyr is successfully steering towards the digital future. The plan for the start of construction for autumn 2023 is still valid. Michael Haiss, Managing Director of LilaConnect: “LilaConnect continues to be the strong partner in Steyr to make the location future-proof. The pre-marketing target for the first area (northern area of Steyr, Gleink and Waldrandsiedlung) has already been achieved. The pre-marketing phase in area 2 (districts of Gründbergsiedlung, Steyrdorf, Christkindl, Schlühslmayr-Siedlung, Pyrach/Reichenschwall) to achieve the 30% order rate is currently being extended.”

The employees are still out and regarding on Steyr’s streets in the expansion area to give personal advice, to take orders or to make appointments in the glass fiber shop on the Grünmarkt. Online orders are still possible without restrictions, of course for all parts of Steyr. The faster the quota is reached, the faster construction can start.

“At the same time, of course, we are also trying to counteract the currently difficult conditions. The framework conditions on the financial markets and in the construction industry have changed significantly in recent months. These changes, which are not caused by us, mean that the desired deadlines cannot always be met. The delays do not only affect LilaConnect. Other companies are also struggling with the changed conditions,” says Martin Stadlmann, who is responsible for handling the fiber optic expansion. “We are doing everything we can to keep the start in autumn with a suitable construction partner,” Stadlmann continues.
