Mass Arrests in Kuwait: 33 Filipinos Caught in Fake Document Scandal

Kuwait City: 33 Filipino citizens were arrested in Kuwait for making fake documents. 33 Filipinos involved in the production and distribution of forged documents were arrested. The suspects were apprehended with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Philippines following the directive of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khalid Al Ahmad Al Sabah.

They were making and distributing important study certificates, marriage contracts and driving permits to Filipinos living in Kuwait. The arrested persons have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.

At the same time, 25 expatriates were arrested for violating residence and employment laws in Kuwait. The authorities arrested those who violated the residence and employment rules at the fish market in the Sharq region.

The violators were caught as part of security checks conducted in collaboration with the General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations, Tripartite Joint Committee, Manpower Authority and Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The apprehended expatriates were handed over to the concerned departments for taking further legal action.

Inspections are also being carried out for non-residents who violate labor and residence laws in Kuwait. According to official figures, a total of 922 expatriates were arrested during the inspections conducted in the month of June under the leadership of the Manpower Public Authority in collaboration with the Residence Affairs Investigation Department. After completing the further steps, steps are now being taken to deport them from the country.
