Schobesberger: “Dare to change and create improvements for the students.”
Vienna (OTS) – Last weekend, the JUNOS students held their 17th general meeting under the motto “Dare to Change”.
The incumbent federal chairman and top candidate in the last ÖH election, Lukas Schobesberger, was confirmed in his office: “The federal government has ruined our universities and the ÖH executive puts ideologies and self-interests ahead of the needs of the students. These are let down across the board. A university policy is needed, away from left-wing castles in the air and right-wing dreams towards real change and a focus on the students. With a new board, we are starting the coming period with fresh energy and new ideas,” says Schobesberger, who is studying at the University of Innsbruck.
New national board
In addition to the federal chair, Viktoria Marik from the University of Vienna was also re-elected as deputy federal chair. Alexander Weyroster from the Vienna University of Economics and Business is taking on a new function as Federal Managing Director. New members of the team are Simon Kern (Paris Lodron University) for programmatics, Isabell Maurer (JKU) for university management, Lisa Ficzko (WU Vienna) for internal development, Kathrin Kaindl (Uni Vienna) for communication and press and Alina Schlenz (Vienna University) as list spokeswoman for the JUNOS BV club.
Tried and tested ways
In the coming year, they want to put down roots and consolidate existing ones, says Schobesberger: “Both throughout Austria and locally at the individual universities, we will position ourselves even more strongly in the coming year. With a focus on internal development and university management, we improve the level where university policy is most noticeable and helpful for students. But the weather report also announces a fresh wind with critical but also constructive storms in the federal government.”
