Samsung Electronics announced on the 10th that its premium gaming monitor ‘Odyssey OLED G9’ has sold more than 3,000 units worldwide through reservation sales.
The Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49-inch gaming monitor with dual QHD high resolution (OLED panel standard) applied.
Starting from North America and Europe on the 12th of last month, reservation sales were carried out in Korea, China, and Southeast Asia, etc. As a result, 1,800 initially prepared units were sold out in less than two weeks in North America, and 700 units were sold in Europe.
In Korea, 100 units were sold out in an hour at Naver Shopping Live held on the 26th of last month.
To commemorate the official release this month, Samsung Electronics plans to conduct a live commerce broadcast on Samsung.com at 6:00 pm on the 10th.
On this day’s broadcast, famous pro gamer Faker will appear and introduce 2023 gaming monitors, including the Odyssey OLED G9.
The Odyssey OLED G9 supports dual QHD (5120×1440) resolution, 110 PPI (pixels per inch) pixel density, 1800R curved screen, 0.03ms response speed, and 240Hz high refresh rate.
In addition, it is equipped with ‘Neo Quantum Processor Pro’, Samsung Electronics’ proprietary image quality technology, and makes game play lively through AI upscaling that automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast ratio of the screen.
Meanwhile, on the 26th of last month, domestic pre-sale of the 5K ultra-high resolution monitor for graphic design, ‘Beaufinity S9’, was sold in 3 days.
This product is equipped with the ‘Smart Calibration’ function for the first time in a monitor, allowing you to adjust the color and brightness of the monitor to the desired value with a smartphone.
