Things are moving at the Renard home

What can you do with your days in a nursing home? Much more than one might think, as Xavier De Cleyre recalls, who talks regarding the actions of recent weeks. First of all, as a prelude to the annual barbecue, a small Matisse retrospective full of colors and movements was proposed with an exhibition at the entrance of Home Renard. “This collective work was carried out by the residents at the ergo workshop, with the precious and artistic help of Pascale Vanlaethem, one of the volunteers who is involved in our residents. She is very creative and brings lots of original artistic ideas. to work with the residents. She chooses a painter whom she interprets in various forms with the residents. Their collective and anonymous works are then exhibited on the large mirror at the entrance to the Home.”

Needless to say that during the barbecue, the summery and friendly atmosphere brought together residents, staff and volunteers for a festive moment as a prelude to the July/August holidays.

After Matisse, the Home Renard changed artists with Magritte, who was honored from the works of the residents of the Home.

The other usual activity before the big holidays was the day with Noah’s Ark, who took a break at Home Renard? We were able to find many animals there: donkeys, sheep, rabbits, ducks and ducklings, all from La Grange Vadrouille who were welcomed and cuddled by the residents, and this, on all floors of the rest home! Even bedridden people thus had the right to animal passage. The donkey visiting the rest of the rest home! The director was delighted to see the faces lit up. “Only happiness and stars in the eyes.”

And that’s not all since in this last week of class, just before the Summer Holidays, students from the École Saint Joseph aux Champs came to share board games with the residents. “This intergenerational activity will be followed by others over the coming months, to the delight of young and old!”
