2023-07-09 07:08:00

In cooperation with the regional traffic department of Upper Austria, the district police command of the speeding and tuning scene in the district of Grieskirchen was put to the test. And quickly found what he was looking for. Ads rained down.

34 vehicles were checked during the priority campaign, and 22 cars were immediately subjected to a technical inspection. Serious technical defects with imminent danger were found on 9 vehicles – the license plates of these were removed on the spot.
A total of 52 complaints were made regarding technical defects in the vehicles inspected and 31 penal orders were issued.
The Grieskirchen district authority issued penalties on the spot totaling 8,680 euros.

In addition, the speed of 4700 vehicles was measured during the center of gravity check. 230 drivers are reported for exceeding the permitted driving speed. The peak values were 111 km/h in the area of a 70 km/h limit and 125 km/h in the area of an 80 km/h limit.

“Our effective priority campaigns are directed once morest dangerous and irregular installations on vehicles and not once morest legal tuning. If the license plate is removed due to illegal tuning measures, this is a punishment that hurts and makes you think. Speeders endanger the safety of all other road users and must therefore be withdrawn from traffic as quickly as possible,” said State Councilor for Infrastructure Mag. Günther Steinkellner in a broadcast on Sunday morning.
