John Cena talks regarding working with The Rock in WWE.

The former 16-time world champion recently appeared on Josh Horowitz’s ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast to discuss a wide range of topics, including a conversation regarding having another huge game following his appearance. at WrestleMania 39 this year.

When the show’s hosts asked Cena regarding having another confrontation with The Rock, Cena stated that he will have to break his losing streak first.

I am so old. I haven’t won a match for five years. Nobody notices, thanks, but if you look at the stats, I’m kinda down. He’s not exactly an easy opponent. I need to find someone really easy to get another win on the board before I go knocking on The Rock’s door once more.

Cena would later expand on his epic feud with The Great One, which included two WrestleMania main events over a decade ago. He says the only thing he feels bad regarding is the beatings he took on Rocky for being in Hollywood, as he now understands this life very well.

I would like to think, from my point of view, that we have always been good, except for a small patch where I really messed up. I became selfish and I, living in WWE at the time, had no concept of growth or anyone else’s perspective. I took Dwayne’s comments as inauthentic and my take was that if you like something, then be there every day. What a hypocrite I am. Because I still love WWE and I can’t go there all the time. I just haven’t seen that. I was so selfish. I had his number and we might have talked regarding it.

Instead of going, ‘Hey man, I’d like to try and do this thing to reconnect you and maybe we can collaborate and really make it big’, I was like, ‘F this’ and I called it man out. It’s a moment, he gave me an opening, and I’m going to break down the door. I’ve been diligent, and I understand why he got upset because he’s changing the perception of the industry. Him, Dave Bautista, they did well to be in the WWE. WWE is not that carnival entertainer stereotype. Professional wrestlers have had this carny stereotype for so long and these guys are breaking barriers and breaking ceilings and on top of that they just transcend the art form and I just got selfish and wanted a match of main event marquee because it would be better what I thought was the business.

He adds that there were bad vibes between him and The Rock, but now their relationship is really good.
