March of Hope: Dominican Liberation Party Demands Better Quality of Life and Criticizes Government Mismanagement

SANTO DOMINGO.- Thousands of people participated this Saturday in the “March of Hope” called by the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) to protest the deterioration in the quality of life that, according to the opposition group, the population has experienced in the three years of management of the current Government.

In the mobilization, which started around 3:00 in the followingnoon from the corners of Duarte and Pedro Livio Cedeño avenues, the PLD marches together with its presidential candidate, Abel Martínez, and the candidate for Mayor of Santo Domingo Este, Luis Alberto Tejeda, “for the joy and hope of the Dominican people” and under slogans such as “Hold on, it’s almost there.”

With its sights set on the 2024 elections to return to the Presidency, the PLD launched constant criticism of the Government of Luis Abinader during the tour of the three electoral constituencies of the National District, in which former President Danilo Medina and former Vice President Margarita Cedeño participate. .

Nahiony Reyes, wife of the presidential candidate, Abel Martínez, described “The March of Hope” as the great space selected by the people to demand the rights of women, so that they are taken into account for their competences in different spheres of society. .

The communication professional stated that this Saturday’s march will be recorded in history, because it also expresses the commitment of Abel and the PLD to respect the rights of women and begin to have a leading role in society; better opportunities and can assume the roles that by competencies deserves.

He pointed out that it is also a sign of the commitment that the peledeístas will assume when they come to power and that single mothers can go to work calmly, because the safety of their children will be guaranteed with the PLD and Abel at the head of the Dominican State.

He pointed out that today the Dominican Republic, united in one voice, marched for hope, for the future, for well-being and for public policies that favor all Dominicans.
