The candidate for mayor of Somos Córdoba, Juan Pablo Quinteros, will formalize a request to the Municipal Electoral Board for the candidates to comply with the requirement to participate in a debate, as established by ordinance 12,901, approved during the management of Ramón Mestre.

“For the exercise of a democracy that is 40 years old, healthy, equitable, that promotes equal opportunities for any candidate for mayor and fundamentally so that the residents of the City of Córdoba can learn regarding the electoral platforms and their proposals, we request that Urgently comply with the provisions of Ordinance No. 12,901, regarding the mandatory nature of the pre-electoral debate between candidates for mayor of the city of Córdoba”, reported Quinteros.

“The municipal election does not have financing for in the different media by the State, as it happens in the case of national and provincial elections, so it is necessary and healthy that the neighbor can know all the alternatives he has to exercise their right to vote. Voting means choosing, and you can’t choose what you don’t know,” added Quinteros.

“Beyond being (the debate) the propitious environment for the crossing of ideas and proposals facing the neighbors, issues have been installed in the campaign that must be discussed and exposed clearly. Issues such as security and (now especially) drug trafficking cannot and should not hide behind guidelines,” said Quinteros. And he added: “I cannot, as a candidate, accept that the relationship between politics and drug traffickers be naturalized without being able to clearly state who is who among the heads of the list and who are those who accompany us.”
