Advancements in Industrial Property: Morocco’s Initiatives for Digital Transformation and Global Recognition

The Moroccan delegation, chaired by Mr. Omar Zniber, Ambassador Permanent Representative of Morocco in Geneva, is also made up of representatives of the Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), which participates in the work of this Assembly, through an important delegation, led by Mr. Abdelaziz Babqiqi, Director General of OMPIC, reads in a press release sent to our editorial team.

Industrial property and digital transformation

Also in the document of which L’Opinion has a copy, in its statement made on this occasion by Mr. Babqiqi, the Moroccan delegation highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) mainly focused on digital transformation and aimed at the targeted support of the various components of the national economic fabric, initiatives which have enabled a positive evolution at the level of the national indicators of Industrial and Commercial Property titles and international following the gain of ten places in the Global Innovation Index (GII ) 2022.

Mr. Abdelaziz Babqiqi also highlighted the actions taken in the field of copyright and related rights aimed at strengthening protection in this area through the adoption of two laws in 2022, we learn via the press release.

Morocco stressed its strong attachment to multilateralism as a catalyst adapted to the development of international relations, specifying that it considers the WIPO as one of the essential economic organizations for the revival of this instrument.

While recalling Morocco’s active participation in the work of WIPO, the Moroccan delegation also insisted on the efforts that should be made to have an efficient and productive intellectual property system.

The participation of the Moroccan delegation will continue within the framework of the work of the General Assemblies through exchanges with the management of the WIPO on the future activities of cooperation within the framework of the relations of our country with this important international organization.

The General Assembly is the most important decision-making body of WIPO, it brings together 193 member states. This body takes decisions governing the strategy as well as the activities of WIPO.
