Students from the region give AJAFEC a helping hand. Several times a year, young people set up an event, as part of a graduation project, with the aim of collecting donations for the Jura Association for the assistance of families of children with of cancer. This is the case of Alicia Hungerbühler, 18, who is organizing a “summer games day” this Sunday in Rebeuvelier for her mature work. Egg race, make-up, tug of war or even storytelling are on the program. “Often, we are chosen. On the one hand because we are a local association. They know that we help the parents directly”, rejoices the president of AJAFEC Sabine Rérat while each year “between 4 and 5 groups” contact the Association. On site, “we intervene to set up an information stand. We also act as volunteers” if the project requires it, specifies Sabine Rérat. For AJAFEC, the benefits are twofold: “The first and most important is the visibility of the population. It helps to inform families affected by the disease. Financial benefits too: “People are very united. Depending on the project, the financial benefits are significant”, according to the president of the Association. /mmi
