TrimUI releases a new game console, a few years following presenting the Smart. Although the Smart Pro appears to be a more powerful alternative to the Smart, there are few similarities between the two. In fact, the TrimUI Smart Pro looks more like the PlayStation Vita, with a rounded design and comparable button layout.
It seems that TrimUI has opted for a version of the Allwinner A133 for the SmartPro, called Allwinner A133plus. With little documentation on the “plus” variant, it appears to be simply an overclocked version of the standard Allwinner A133 with 200MHz higher peak CPU clock speeds. The arrangement of the four ARM Cortex-A53 cores, however, remains unchanged, as does the PowerVR GE8300 GPU clocked at 660 MHz.
Other details remain unknown at this stage, including pricing and availability. However, the gaming handheld will feature a 4000mAh battery in its 188 x 80 x 17mm chassis and a 4.96-inch IPS display. The small display is assumed to run natively at 1,280 x 720 pixels, which would yield a PPI of 294. The TrimUI Smart Pro is also expected to come in three colors, and the site Retro Handhelds suggests a late July release.
