“Know that signage is respectable!”, Can we read on the Facebook page of the police force located on the North Shore of Montreal.
The Saint-Eustache police mentioned three essential rules that cyclists must respect on the road network on Friday.
In his call to order, the local authorities ask them to stop at a red light or a compulsory stop or to comply with the signs.
“In front of a red light or a mandatory stop, the same rules apply for everyone. You must bring your bike to a complete stop, even if the way is clear. In the case of a red light, you must wait until the light is green before continuing your journey or until a pedestrian light allows you to do so. Be careful, pedestrians always have the right of way. Finally, when a sign prohibits turning to the right, you must comply with it”, we tell citizens traveling by bicycle.
The Police Department of the City of Saint-Eustache invites the population to consult the regulations listed by the SAAQ on bicycle safety.
