2023-07-07 15:06:35

The Municipality of Córdoba presented this Friday the centralized Digital Clinical Record (HCD), a system that allows the unification of the medical history of patients in the 110 health centers that the city has, and which is also connected with provincial hospitals.

Mayor Martín Llaryora and Vice Mayor Daniel Passerini presented the system that, according to information, allows for better patient care, since it centralizes information, avoids unnecessary requests for studies, and contributes to quick and timely decision-making through indicators. management.

The information disseminated by the municipality indicates that patients will be able to have their medical history regardless of the place where they are treated. The professionals will have all the medical history, even more so in the emergency.

Laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging and others will be incorporated into the patient’s clinical history, avoiding loss of these studies and transfers of patients to look for them, since they will be stored in the system. “It is important to emphasize that a neighbor who moves from the neighborhood will no longer have to request a copy of his medical history to take him to his new family doctor,” they remarked from the municipality.

In addition, it is adhered to the Provincial System of Single Electronic Clinical Record, which allows residents who carry out their studies in municipal health centers to continue their treatment in any town in the province.

The system is working in the 94 health centers, the Príncipe de Asturias, Children’s and Emergency hospitals, the three new Prompt Care hospitals, the three Medical Specialties Directorates and the 24-hour Dental Emergency Center.

How does it work

The HCD makes it possible to centralize patient information, avoids unnecessary request for studies and their loss, and contributes to making quick and timely decisions.

At the same time, it improves the traceability of medicines both in outpatient and hospital settings. Complementary studies (laboratory, ultrasound, etc.) are managed quickly, strengthening the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the patient.

In addition, the system provides doctors with more tools, since it allows them to be interconnected with the three levels of health care.

The medical history on paper will continue to exist for a while longer since it serves to know the patient’s history.

One of the most important steps was the investment in technological material destined to improve the entire technological infrastructure of more than 110 establishments.

1,800 state-of-the-art computers and the installation of more than 100 kilometers of network cable were incorporated to bring connectivity to the buildings, which were equipped with state-of-the-art technology and greater connectivity, guaranteeing in all cases a browsing speed in accordance with the new system demands.

Added to this is the training plan developed so that more than 1,000 professionals from the municipal health system (doctors, nurses and administrative staff) might acquire the necessary knowledge for the correct application of the system.

Coordination with provincial hospitals

In 2021, Mayor Martín Llaryora signed the adhesion of the Municipality of Córdoba to the Single Clinical Record of the Province of Córdoba.

This strategic decision is of vital relevance today, since from the implementation of the Digital Clinical Record in municipal public health, patients who are treated here will be able to continue their treatment in any town in the province, personalizing and optimizing interconsultations and referrals and improving the healthcare experience across the territory.
