The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has proposed to increase gas tariffs for all consumers by 8% from July 1, 2024. Writes regarding it TASSreferring to the draft service order.
It is proposed to raise gas prices by a similar 8% from July 1, 2025. “The new wholesale gas prices will come into effect on July 1, 2024. Thus, their change will be planned and the first in a year and a half. The funds received will be directed to the social gasification of the regions and the construction of new gas pipelines for consumers. This will support the implementation of repair and investment programs for the reliable supply of energy resources to consumers, which, in turn, will allow the provision of quality services to the population,” the FAS press service commented.
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation emphasized that regarding 30% of Russian gas pipelines have been in operation for more than 40 years. Tariff indexation will speed up the implementation of the social gasification program. “Thanks to it, gas has already been brought to the borders of more than 600 thousand land plots,” the ministry noted.
