At least 8 people died Monday in mass shootings that occurred in the states of Texas and Pennsylvania. These were in hours before the US celebrated Independence Day on Tuesday. A day that, according to statistics, is usually one of the most violent of the year.

Police in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reported that a man was arrested Monday night following shooting several people in the southwest of the city.

Five people died in this event and two children aged 2 and 13 were injured. The man was wearing a bulletproof vest and had several magazines, an AR 15 assault rifle and a pistol.

In another violent shooting in the city of Fort Worth, Texas, at least three people died and eight were injured (including a minor), police reported.

So far no arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The event occurred on the day in which the neighborhood celebrated its local festivals.

In Baltimore, two people were killed and 28 wounded in a mass shooting, according to authorities. Nine people were taken to area hospitals and three of the injured are in critical condition. This shooting occurred on July 2 at a local party.
