Rojo: Meteorological phenomena whose intensity causes damage.
Purple: Meteorological phenomena with intensity rarely recorded, which causes serious damage.
Through social networks, the Civil Protection of the capital issued the information sheet on the activation of the purple alert in Azcapotzalco, which foresees the fall of rain greater than 70 millimeters in 24 hourshail fall and wind gusts greater than 80 kilometers per hour.
The agency recommended to the residents of that demarcation that, in the event of a flood or landslide warning, evacuate the residence and give priority to children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Also, if you are in a public place, be careful regarding falling branches, trees and tarpaulins.
It also estimated “associated dangers” on heavy rains that will generate water currents on streets and avenues.
The period of this indicator contemplates this maximum measurement from 7:25 p.m. on Thursday until 12:00 a.m. on Friday, that is, at midnight on July 7.
