After a 1km chase in the rain, Lee Chun-soo, a former national football team member, and manager receive a letter of appreciation for catching a drunk driving hit-and-run criminal and handing him over to the police.
The Seoul Dongjak Police Station announced today (7th) that it has decided to give a letter of appreciation and a reward to Mr. Lee and manager Ji Byung-ju, who caught a drunken hit-and-run criminal who ran into a taxi on Olympic Boulevard on the 4th and handed it over to the police.
The police are coordinating the date of the letter of appreciation and award ceremony with Mr. Lee.
Previously, Mr. Lee and the manager chased and caught a drunk driver who ran away following hitting a taxi at the entrance to Olympic Road in Seoul at around 10:25 pm on the 4th.
Lee, who was on his way home from filming at the time, saw a taxi driver saying, “Please catch him,” and ran regarding 1km in pursuit.
In a phone call with KBS, Mr. Lee said, “(The taxi driver) was an old man, and when he ran into a situation where he was talking earnestly, he seemed to have only thought of catching him unconditionally.”
