This Thursday, starting at 8:00 p.m., the 31st Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera awards ceremony will take place, which every year distinguishes the city’s outstanding personalities with recognition by the Municipality of Córdoba. The ceremony will take place at the Comedia theater, recovered and valued following its fire 16 years ago.

On the city’s 450th anniversary, there will be three winners of the night, who will be recognized with the “Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera 2023” and “Jerónimo In Memoriam” awards by decision of the jury and the “Jerónimo de la Gente” with the popular vote.

The Down is Up Foundation and the Maipú Club were left with the Jerónimo de la Gente shortlist, recognized by the people of Cordoba who voted for both organizations.

Down Is Up is a foundation created by a group of mothers of children with down syndrome, which works to provide tools so that people with disabilities can become independent and project an autonomous life at home.

The Amigos de Maipú neighborhood club is a neighborhood, social and sports club, dedicated to promoting sports, social and solidarity values, instilling in the community the importance of effort, commitment and camaraderie for the collective good.

The gala includes twenty distinctions in the Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera category, six for Jerónimo de la Gente and four Jerónimo In Memoriam, in which each one will have their respective winners.

Esteban Domina, historian. Born in Las Varillas, commercial expert recognized with the best average. An accountant, with a degree in Administration and a former teacher at UNC, he was also a director of the Argentine Federation of Professional Councils of Economic Sciences, a provincial senator for the Justicialista Party, a national deputy and a member of the Drafting Commission of the Reform of the Constitution of the Province of Córdoba.

Romina Biagioli, athlete. Triathlon competitor, she won two bronzes in the Pan American Triathlon Championship in 2016 and 2019, two medals in the 2019 South American Beach Games, gold in the individual event and silver in the mixed relay, she participated in the 2020 Olympic Games following finishing 20. º in the World Cup.

Sandra Díaz, PhD in Biological Sciences. Born in Bell Ville, she graduated from UNC, where she also taught. She is a CONICET researcher, she directed 13 doctoral theses, published more than 200 papers in scientific journals, specializing in the study of the impact of global climate change on regional biodiversity of plant ecosystems, recognized and awarded worldwide.

Georgina Monteagudo, journalist and presenter. She has worked on Cadena 3 since 2006 and on the radio since she was 18 years old, in 1998. She accompanied Mario Pereyra since 2008. She is the beloved and reliable voice of Córdoba.

Abel Sanchez Torres, judge. He is one of the youngest Federal Judges in the Judiciary to get his position. He carries out his work in the Federal Court of Appeals of Córdoba. Professor, writer, specialist in Criminal Law.
