the application of Shazam received an update today, reaching version 15.36. The main novelty of the update is that the app can now not only identify songs using the device’s microphone, but also from the audio played in other appsas TikTok, Instagram e YouTubein addition to the system as a whole.
Just open Shazam, tap the blue button and go back to the app with the song you want to name. It is also possible to do the same action using the Music Recognition feature, which integrates Shazam into the iOS/iPadOS Control Center, where there is also the history of identified songs if iCloud is active.
When using the app, in addition to recording the songs you’ve already discovered using Shazam, they’re added to a playlist. If you’re an Apple Music subscriber, the playlist can be added to the streaming service so you can listen to your discoveries later.
When the song is identified, the user receives a notification with information such as title, album and artist referring to the song. If you are using an iPhone 14 Pro [Max]an alert is also displayed on the Dynamic Island (Dynamic Island), allowing you to quickly return to Shazam to see more details.
To identify songs — whether through the device’s microphone or the audio played on the system — the app uses a complex algorithm developed in the early days of its history. As we have already shown here, each song has a kind of “fingerprint”, which contains a special mapping of sound waves made to facilitate identification.
