The sphere is not the easiest building shape to make, but there are a few around the world. For example, the Geodewith a diameter of 30 meters, located at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris, or theAvicii Arena in Sweden, which was so far the largest with a diameter of 110 meters. However, the title of the tallest spherical building in the world now goes to Spherein Las VegasVegas.
The huge structure has a diameter of 157 meters, for a height of 111 meters. In addition, it is entirely covered with diodes, with 1.2 million blocks of 48 LEDLEDs distributed over its entire surface of approximately 54,000 m².

A huge screen inside the sphere
The display was activated for the first time this July 4 to celebrate the USA Independence Day. It first displayed the message “ Hello World » before covering himself with various spectacular motifs, such as fireworks or the American flag. A huge 16K x 16K LED screen is also planned inside the building, and will cover the interior of the spherical structure to create immersive experiences.
The building will host concerts and sporting events, with a total seating capacity of 17,600 – 10,000 of the seats will include environmental effects and haptic feedback to create “4D” experiences. The audience will be able to feel the movementsmovements, the windwind or the temperature of what they see on the screen.
A second Sphere is planned in London, but has not yet managed to obtain all the necessary authorizations and is facing resistance from the local population and businesses. The one in Las Vegas will open its doors in September 2023, and will begin with concerts by the group U2.
