Vienna (OTS) – It was quiet for a long time, now Christina Stürmer is back! Today she announced her stage comeback live on Ö3-Wecker – and with an absolute highlight: she will be the first German-speaking artist to play two MTV unplugged concerts in Vienna’s Volkstheater in August. Just in time for her 20th stage anniversary.
With Robert Kratky in the Ö3-Wecker she talks regarding her plans for the coming weeks and months: On August 22nd and 23rd she will be on the stage of the Vienna Volkstheater for the recordings for MTV-Unplugged – a live concert in front of an audience and with the acoustics -Versions of their big hits (advance sales start on July 7th via Ö-Ticket).
The concert will be shown on ORF 1 in November.
“I hope everyone else thinks it’s as awesome and crazy as I do, but I’ll do an MTV unplugged. Yes, Christina Stürmer is doing an MTV unplugged,” says Stümer. Congratulations to Robert Kratky: “Congratulations from the whole Ö3 team. Why we are so excited:
We’ve been there from the start and we’ve watched this career and each time it’s gotten bigger, cooler. And yet you always stayed you.”
The planning has been going on for some time: “We had the first talks with MTV via Zoom when I was just pregnant with my second daughter, Lotta. It’s now 2.5 years old, which means the first talks took place three years ago. Of course, just the planning, the preparation, how many lists there are, which guests I would like to have there, the band is always there, but there are additional musicians, and and and. Which songs at all – so of course, “I live” must not be missing, or “Angels fly lonely” … It’s a crazy challenge, but I’m just really happy!”, says Stürmer.
The first rehearsals and preparations are already underway for Christina and her longtime band, who will accompany her. The accompanying MTV unplugged album and the concert film will be released in autumn. With this highlight, Stürmer ended their breaks on stage, a tour is planned for 2024.
Christina Stürmer is the first artist (among all artists) to have been nominated twenty times for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award and to have won it eleven times. Now she is the first female artist in German-speaking countries to be invited to record an MTV unplugged album.
