Eon is investing in the construction of new, ultra-fast charging points across Europe. The energy company has now ordered 4,500 additional fast charging stations from the charging station manufacturer “alpitronic”. They are to be used in customer projects and for public charging by 2025. The latest generation of fast charging stations with outputs between 50 kW and 400 kW are used. They cover a wide range of charging needs – from charging at work or when shopping to ultra-fast charging on the motorway and megawatt charging for heavy commercial vehicles.
Both companies also want to improve the customer experience at the charging station. The focus should be on the technical optimization of the interaction between the vehicle, fast charging station and billing system as well as Plug&Charge. All of the new charging stations are equipped for ad-hoc charging using standard credit, debit or giro cards and thus meet the requirements of the new Charging Station Ordinance (LSV). (awm)
