“Ah, well, you chose the wrong day for the photo, my field is very beautiful. But come back on Sunday, when it’s 30 degrees, it won’t look the same at all. Potatoes are fragile!” A farmer in Goumoens-la-Ville, in Gros-de-Vaud, Raphaël Miazza is one of the few Vaud potato specialists. And on this Wednesday morning, when a fine rain waters his fields, he is amused to see a photographer and a journalist arrive to discuss the drought and its impact on his favorite crop. (see box).
