Apple today released the third beta version of iOS 17 for developers. As usual, the update brings subtle improvements. Although it is a relatively smaller version than last week, Apple has made some modifications to its mobile system.
In this article, we’re going to take a look at some of the highlights of the iOS 17 third beta!
Apple Music Song Credits Details
One of the main changes in the third beta version of iOS 17 is the addition of the credits section in Apple Music songs – something that other streaming services (such as Spotify and Deezer) have had for a good few years now.
Users can now access comprehensive data on producers, performers, composers and more. By tapping a new dedicated button, you can explore a full list of those involved in creating the track, as well as quickly access the available lyrics and audio quality options.
New Photos app icon in Messages
The Messages app also received news. The Photos app option now displays the user’s most recent photo as an icon, providing a more personalized feel and making it easier to quickly identify content. Until the second beta version of the system, a generic photo icon was used.
Improvements to the Home app (Home)
In the Home app, for devices that support multiple colors and shades, there are now pre-selected options located at the bottom of the interface.
This allows you to quickly adjust the color of the smart lights. The same color options are also accessible through Control Center when adjusting specific lights — thus ensuring easy control over devices.
Simplified UI in Settings
The new beta version of iOS 17 also brings a simplified interface in Settings, with the inclusion of a new option for “Depth of Field Control” in the “Preserve Settings” section.
This change allows for more efficient management of Depth Control settings, as this option is now separate from the “Creative Controls” picker.
Improvements on the album “Apagados”
On the “Apagados” album, Apple made adjustments to the interface. Instead of separate erase and recover buttons, there is now a three-dot icon at the bottom of the screen, which gives access to recovery and erase options.
refined user interface Mental Wellbeing in the Health app
Last but not least, in the mental wellness section (Mental Wellbeing) of the Health app, Apple has made design improvements to provide a more streamlined and visually appealing look.
The highlight is the updated color scheme for the different variations of emotions. Additionally, users can now set up reminders to record their moods.
Announced at the opening of WWDC23, iOS 17 is currently in the testing phase. Its final versions should only be released in the autumn of the northern hemisphere (between September and October); from now on, it is very likely that the system will undergo other changes — we, of course, will follow along.
