No time? blue News summarizes for you

A combat robot from Rheinmetall should be able to independently recognize and shoot down enemy drones. However, the release to shoot must still be given by a human. However, use in ground combat is also conceivable.

The armaments company Rheinmetall has presented a mobile combat robot that can fire up to 6,000 rounds per minute. According to Rheinmetall, the Mission Master CXT – Fire Support is primarily intended for combating drones.

He also has two Dillon Aero M134D miniguns on board, with the mentioned rate of fire. The robot should be able to recognize targets independently, but will only fire following confirmation by a human operator.

Several robots can be controlled together

The autonomous combat robot is powered by a diesel hybrid engine. In electric mode, it can move quietly through the terrain with all-wheel drive. In the so-called “Wolfpack” mode, one operator can also control several of the robots at once.

Even if Rheinmetall focuses on combating unmanned drones, the vehicle also seems to be suitable for ground combat as infantry support. The use of autonomous combat vehicles in wars is the subject of international controversy.
