An 18th century architectural gem
Impossible to guess its presence from the rue de Lille, in the heart of the 7th arrondissement and a stone’s throw from the Seine. We are however at number 75 and the mansion hides behind a beautiful stone facade, almost familiar with the Musée d’Orsay. If the facade of the building behind which the Hôtel de Lannion is hidden illustrates the work of the Belle Époque, its structure dates back to the 18th century. Over more than 1000 square meters pass an indoor swimming pool, a living room and a Louis XV bedroom, a dining room classified as a historical monument and a tree-lined garden, an oasis of greenery in the heart of Paris. The couturier Pierre Cardin also lived not far from there, in his private mansion on the quai Anatole France.

A colossal transaction last fall
We know that the mansion belonged to Hubert Guerrand-Hermès, patron and great art collector before passing into the hands of Tony Fadell, 54, pillar of Apple and famous for having developed their greatest hits — he is nicknamed the “dad” of the iPod. According to Challenges magazine, the American sold the Lannion hotel to Valérie Taupin, founder of the Teoxane laboratories last fall. The transaction would amount to almost 48 million euros.
