The heavy rains that this holiday Monday fell in the last hours on Barranquilla caused several floods in neighborhoods such as Calamari and Caribbean Green, and electrical emergencies in some sectors due to problems with transformers and cable falls, reported the Fire brigade.
Diego Sánchez, firefighter on duty, reported that apparently the channeling works in the Calamarí stream were clogged, causing the waters to flood several houses, as can be seen in the videos sent by the families residing in the race 29A with street 84A.
“Please, we need the firefighters to send us.”one of the victims is heard saying in a video, while recording other people walking between the flooded houses.
The institution’s machines also attended to problems with transformers and power cables in some streets of San Felipe, Alto Prado and Carrera 46 with Calle 70.
The residents of Caribe Verde, terrace 3 of Palmeras del Caribe, carrera 9 calle 130, sent a video to Zero zone showing flooding on the first floor.
The emergency not only affected the apartments but the common areas and apartments.
“Gentlemen, please, look at the situation we are experiencing, ” says one of those affected.
The same thing happened in this same sector, but in the Block 18 of the Ciudad Caribe Urbanization. “Being this a new project, the streets are completely flooded. We want the construction companies to hear this message because there are problems with the drains”, assures another victim.
