The highest regional authority Maulina responded to criticism of the million-dollar transfer approved to finance the “Together and together we feel safer” program of the organization linked to the DR. El Gore del Maule assured that the program has not yet started, no people have been hired or any expenses have been paid. They notified Urbanismo Social of their intention to terminate the agreement and not carry out the program.

The Maule Regional Government (Gore) came up once morest the questioning of the million-dollar transfer approved to the Fundación Urbanismo Social to finance the program “Together and together we feel safer”, and for which the controversial organization linked to the Frente Amplio party Revolución Democrática (RD) had been awarded $264 million.

The NGO was led until last year by its founder, the engineer from the Universidad Católica Pilar Goycoolea –close to the Government–, and in which the current head of the Regional Ministerial Secretariat (Seremi) for Maule Housing and a DR militant, Rodrigo Hernández, held the position -also until last year- of director of the Legal Department of the foundation.

Through a statement, the Gore del Maule assured that to date “the program has not started, no person has been hired, no expense has been reported.”

The counter revealed the detail of the transfer for the project that sought to “reduce the perception of insecurity” in the Maule Region, but which ended up generating more doubts than security. The NGO had to submit a report to the Regional Government every six months to give an account of the effective progress of the activities carried out. The agreement was decreed on December 22, 2022. The term to carry out all project activities was extended until June 30, 2024.

It is worth mentioning that the decree specified that “the resources referred to in this numeral and the following will not be incorporated into the budgets of the receiving entities, without prejudice to the fact that they must render an account of their use to the Comptroller General of the Republic” .

El Gore del Maule also maintained that it did not affect the job application by the Curicó councilor Javier Ahumada to the Social Urbanism Foundation. “He went of his own free will.”

Governor Cristina Bravo, in an interview with local radio VLNI declare that “there is nothing irregular here, the Maule resources are well protected.”
