The First Superior National Criminal Prosecutor Specialized in Human Rights and Interculturality managed to get the Judiciary to issue a 15-year prison sentence once morest Edgar Clever Alejo Eduardo, accused of the crime of having been part of the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso.

“The Superior Criminal Prosecutor for Human Rights and Interculturality obtained a 15-year prison sentence once morest Edgar Clever Alejo Eduardo for affiliation to terrorism, for joining a faction of Sendero Luminoso commanded by comrade ‘Artemio’ between 2011 and 2012,” reads the the Twitter post.

According to the evidence gathered by the superior deputy prosecutor Renato Vargas Isla, Alejo Eduardo joined the ranks of Sendero Luminoso through the Huallaga Regional Committee, led by the terrorist leader Florindo Eleuterio Flores Hala, better known as ‘comrade Artemio’, between the years 2011 and 2012.

In addition to the time he will spend in prison, the judge ordered Edgar Clever Alejo Eduardo to pay compensation of 10,000 soles in favor of the state.

The prosecutor relied on testimonies, photographic recognition records and other elements that prove that the defendant was under the orders of ‘comrade Artemio’ in an armed raid carried out in the town of Cepesa-Tocache.
