In Moscow detained Vice-Rector of the RANEPA Maxim Nazarov. He was accused of fraud related to fictitious employment. Marina Rakova, former Deputy Minister of Education, and Sergei Zuev, former rector of Shaninka, are also involved in the same case. Zuev was last summer translated from a pre-trial detention center under house arrest, then under a ban on certain actions. Rakova was also in jail for a long time, then she appointed prohibition of certain activities. They are defendants in the case of embezzlement of 50 million budget funds.
Nazarov was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of a ban on certain actions. He is forbidden to use the Internet, mobile communications, communicate with employees of the RANEPA and the Ministry of Education and Science.
Operative actions with the Vice-Rector of the RANEPA Maxim Nazarov were carried out several weeks ago. The court ruled to ban certain actions and now Nazarov cannot communicate with the academy, says a newspaper source Vedomosti at RANEPA.
Maxim Nazarov for some time was the interim rector of the university. In this post, he replaced Vladimir Mau, who detained in June last year in the case of fraud with budgetary funds. Four months later, all charges once morest Mau were dropped, the case was dismissed, but Mau never returned to work. According to government agencies, he flew away to Israel.
Rakova, Zuev and Mau were defendants in one big Shaninka case. According to investigators, ex-Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova secured the allocation of money for events under the Teacher of the Year project. The contractor was Shaninka. But the money, according to the police, was stolen. And also, according to the investigation, the defendants fictitiously employed employees at the RANEPA. As the law enforcement agencies explained to Interfax, it was the vice-rector of the university, Nazarov, who employed teachers on fictitious documents.
Nazarov is a graduate of Volgograd State University with a degree in applied mathematics. Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. At first he worked in Volgograd, including in the local branch of the RANEPA, in 2012 he became deputy vice-rector at the Moscow RANEPA, in February 2013 – directly as vice-rector. That is, he worked at the university for more than ten years.
If Maxim Nazarov’s guilt is proven, he faces up to ten years in prison.
