Rumors regarding the long-awaited successor to the Nintendo Switch continue to swirl, and this time around, a Spanish development studio is at the center of attention. According to information disclosed by the trusted leaker Nash Weedlethe development kit for Nintendo’s next console would have been handed over to this mysterious studio.

This news of an already delivered dev kit raises questions regarding the close ties between this anonymous developer and the Japanese company, and portends an imminent announcement from the console. If previous leaks from Nash Weedle are to be believed, it’s possible that this Spanish studio is MercurySteam, the team behind recent 2D entries in the Metroid series.
