Macky Sall’s 3rd term is causing collateral damage within the APR.
The Head of State will officially announce his decision this Monday at 8 p.m., during a speech to the Nation, his decision whether or not to participate in the next presidential election in February 2024.

While Macky Sall has not yet decided on the question, an APR executive has already left the party. This is Thierno Birahim Fall who resigned from the APR. The one who was until November 2022 director general of the Senegalese Press Agency (APS) has also left his post.
He made his decision following the audience granted recently by President Macky Sall to the mayors who support his candidacy for a third term. According to the RFM, which gives the information, Thierno Birahim Fall has resigned and from the APR, claiming that he is once morest a candidacy of the head of state for the presidential election of 2024.

It should be noted that Thierno Birahim Fall is not the only one to resign from the APR because of the 3rd term.
Moustapha Kane had sent his letter of resignation to the President of the Republic. He resigned from his position as Chairman of the Asepex Supervisory Board.
