An attack targeted, in the night from Sunday to Monday, a villa under construction located on the chemin d’Agliani, in Bastia. The facts occurred in the “Parc Louisa” housing estate.
A strong explosion would have sounded around midnight, giving rise to the start of a fire in this large uninhabited house. Firefighters from the Bastia rescue center quickly went to the scene to contain the disaster. The deminers and the scientific police also intervened during the night.
According to our information, the damage would be quite “limited.” A “FLNC Libertà” tag was found on the facade of the house, as well as a gas bottle on an outside staircase.
Attacks have multiplied on the island in recent months. This resurgence of violence has been observed in particular since the fatal attack on nationalist activist Yvan Colonna at the central house in Arles in March 2022.
Since that date, the security services have recorded more than 70 attacks and arson attacks, mainly targeting second homes, construction companies, tourist establishments and public buildings.
