Car review: BMW’s new living room on wheels
By offering the i7 plug-in hybrid or full electric, as well as the XM hybrid, BMW is knocking down the card of great electrified luxury.

Let it be said from the outset, we sail in price ranges oscillating between 130,000 and 200,000 euros. If they are certainly not within the reach of all budgets, the new electrified 7 Series from BMW reveal incomparable charms.
Starting with power. The M750e plug-in hybrid develops 498 horsepower with its inline six-cylinder, where the full electric i7 xDrive60 develops 544 and up to 571 depending on the model, on its two engines.
Once the feline is launched, driving comfort bursts into the hands. Paddles on the steering wheel, large 14.9-inch curved horizontal multifunction control screen, easily accessible, polished design, spacious storage compartment, the luxury sedan glides over the asphalt. Very interesting, the four-wheel steering makes it possible to take optimal curves in tight turns.
A price to match
If the downhill electric regeneration of the M750e is very significant, the electric autonomy of the i7 xDrive60 is just under 600 terminals, for a recharge time of 34 minutes.
It is from the back seat that the real revolution is contemplated. A 31.3-inch screen (Theatre Screen) connected, with integrated Amazon Fire TV, extends from the ceiling over the entire width of the cabin, controlled from two touch screens the size of a mobile phone housed in each door. Through 35 speakers, the Bowers & Wilkins sound system generates a 1,965-watt 4D audio experience that rocks the ears.
In short, travel conditions worthy of those of a minister. Small flat, the deployed Theater Screen prevents any visibility to the driver through the rear window. Very successful, the new electrified 7 Series achieves the perfect combination of design, comfort, power and luxury. A whole program… at a price to match.
