It’s a nice day“, rejoices Nicolas Braibant, who manages the Ferme des Noyers in the village with his sons and his son-in-law.
“The evolution of things has meant that we are fewer and fewer farmers in Belgium or elsewhere. We don’t always know how to have a neighbor who is a farmer and that the children frolic in the stables and in the fields. I think it’s interesting to open our doors so that people can discover part of our job.“, he adds.
A total of 53 farms are opening their doors in Wallonia this Sunday with a whole series of activities. For example, on the Braibant farm, rides with old tractors are possible. For lovers of good meat, the farm has its own butcher’s shop, run by Nathalie, Nicolas’s wife, where organic meat from her cows is available for sale.
