PHILADELPHIA — Alec Bohm homered twice and matched his career high with six RBIs, and the Philadelphia Phillies had the most runs in five years to rout the Washington Nationals 19-4 on Saturday.
Kyle Schwarber hit a grand slam and Nick Castellanos homered, single and double with three RBIs for the Phillies, who had their most runs since beating Miami 20-1 on April 7, 2018.
Philadelphia had 18 hits, including four by Bohm, to tie his career high. The defending National League champions have won six of eight games and 12 of 16.
Zack Wheeler (7-4) won his fourth straight decision, allowing four runs and seven hits in five innings.
Bryce Harper doubled, two hits and drove in two runs. JT Realmuto drove in two runs.
MacKenzie Gore (4-7) allowed seven runs, six hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings as his ERA rose to 4.48. Amos Willingham, Joe La Sorsa and Thaddeus Ward each gave up four runs.
For the Nationals, the Venezuelans Keibert Ruiz 4-0; and Ildemaro Vargas 4-2 with a run scored.
For the Phillies, Panamanian Edmundo Sosa 4-2 with a run scored. Dominican Cristian Pache 4-1 with a run scored and an RBI.
