AMD’s advanced “HYPR-RX” technology to optimize advertised performance fails to meet launch schedule.

AMD seems to have forgotten to launch its HYPR-RX performance boosting technology, as the planned launch period has now passed.

AMD HYPR-RX technology plans to incorporate multiple technologies into a single “One-Click” button, but no specific launch date has been announced

As a reminder, AMD announced HYPR-RX technology alongside the release of its flagship RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards in November 2022. This feature is meant to be a “One-Click” performance boost, enabling AMD Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost and Radeon Super Resolution (RSR).

This is a collection of technologies that have been around for quite some time. AMD planned to integrate all of these technologies into a single feature, allowing consumers easier access to these technologies.

For those unfamiliar with the technologies mentioned above, Anti-Lag is AMD’s way of reducing the lag between user input and the screen display. This is ideal for competitive games where every millisecond counts. Radeon Boost, when enabled, reduces resolution in fast-paced scenes, allowing it to achieve a higher refresh rate with less compromise in quality. This feature makes fast games easier as every move is properly visible.

Finally, Radeon Super Resolution is a magnification technology, similar to FSR 1.0, but this time the changes are made at the driver level rather than the game. which title, because it does not require the support of game developers. It also helps achieve a higher refresh rate, making it ideal for lower spec devices.

AMD’s HYPR-RX technology is still not available, although the company had planned a launch for the first half of 2023. The company also announced the FSR 3 “FidelityFX Super Resolution 3” on the same day as the HYPR- RX, but we do not know when it will be launched. Starfield, one of the biggest AMD-backed titles, only supports FSR 2, indicating that we won’t see the new magnification technology in action until at least Q3 2023.

Although the importance of this feature is not huge, as Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost and RSR can be activated individually via AMD’s Adrenaline software. However, since the capabilities of the feature are not yet tested, it would have brought much more.
