The harsh diet constitutes an additional burden for people who want to lose fat, and increases the stress of not being able to adhere to it for a long period of time.

However, a famous British nutritionist presented four main ways to lose weight and get rid of some fat during the summer season, without following a restrictive and harsh diet.

Doctor Sarah Kayat mentioned five tips that can be adhered to when it comes to losing weight and improving body measurements, according to the British dailyrecord website.

1- Enjoy eating

She explained that learning how to eat regularly and correctly through good chewing, tasting and enjoying food items away from the TV screen, computers and phones helps to enjoy meals, feel full and not overeat.

2- Large quantities of healthy food

She also said that a person can eat more, provided that he eats more healthy foods, foods that are low in calories and nutrients that are found in many plant foods.

She noted that restricting food portions or the number of calories when dieting can be discouraging.

3- Monitor snacks

With regard to eating snacks, she indicated that this is a natural human need and does not harm health at first, but what is eaten of snacks may eventually lead to harm to health and weight gain.

Bad snacks include processed foods that are high in sugar and salt, recommending an ideal snack such as nuts, which are rich in healthy fats, fiber and protein and help stabilize blood sugar levels.

Some studies have also shown that eating four to five small meals a day can help with weight loss, but Dr. Kayat explained that it depends on each person’s individual preferences and needs.

4- Avoid harsh diets

Crash dieting requires that calorie intake be drastically reduced, sometimes by cutting out entire food groups or just eating one food item.

She explained that this type of diet can sometimes do more harm than good, and can affect the metabolism and thus have negative consequences for the way the body stores fat.

She suggested that the person would be keen to exercise regularly, in addition to adhering to healthy eating habits, in order to obtain the correct balance for the body.
