Anthony Duclair was traded from the Florida Panthers to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
In return for the 27-year-old forward, the Panthers got forward Steven Lorentz and a fifth-round pick in the 2025 draft.
Duclair still has one season left on the three-year contract he signed with the Panthers on July 15, 2021, and might become an unrestricted free agent next season.
He had nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 20 games last season, before adding 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 20 playoff games during the Panthers’ run to the Stanley Cup Finals .
The Quebecer had set personal highs for goals (31), assists (27) and points (58) in 74 games in 2021-22.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (80th overall) in the 2013 draft, Duclair has 261 points (122 goals, 139 assists) in 490 regular season games with the Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Blue Jackets of Columbus, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Arizona Coyotes and the Rangers. He also added 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 34 playoff games.
Lorentz, 27, has one more season left on the two-year contract he signed with the Sharks on July 22. He might become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the next season.
He had 19 points, including 10 goals, in 80 games with the Sharks last season.

Drafted in the seventh round (186th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2015, Lorentz has 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists) in 192 career regular season games with the Sharks and Hurricanes. He added three assists in 16 playoff games.
