China’s auto manufacturing sector has seen strong expansion in revenue and profit in the first five months of this year, according to industry data.
The combined operating income of companies in the industry increased by 3.63 trillion yuan (regarding 502.5 billion U.S. dollars), up 14.3 percent year on year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (China Association of Automotive Manufacturers).
The figure represents 7.1% of the total operating income of major industrial companies over this period.
In the first five months, the country’s automakers made a total of 174.62 billion yuan in profit, up 24.3 percent from a year earlier, the data showed.
