This Friday, Antoine Dupont was in Béziers for a conference alongside Fabien Galthié and Bernard Laporte in particular. During this event, the captain of the XV of France was questioned regarding the death of Nahel, killed by police shooting earlier this week. A drama that has been in the news for the past few days and on which the Toulousain wanted to react.
This news item has been agitating France for several days. A 17-year-old boy was killed by police fire during a traffic check. The motorist is suspected of a refusal to comply. The police officer who fired the shot was charged with intentional homicide. Antoine Dupont, present in Béziers this Friday, was questioned regarding the death of young Nahel when violence broke out in the city the night before following this tragedy. The captain of the XV of France explained in the columns of Midi Libre: “It is very sad to see a young man lose his life in these conditions. There are no other words. These are things that shouldn’t happen.”

Dupont supports
Several public figures and sportsmen have supported the family of the young man in recent days. Many footballers reacted like Kylian Mbappé who expressed his indignation on his social networks: “I hurt my France”, assured the PSG player. For his part, Antoine Dupont explained: “I don’t know the context or the daily life in these cities, footballers are perhaps more sensitive to that. In any case, we cannot condone it. We can only support remotely. But what is our support for a mother who has just lost her son, not much”. A white march in tribute to the young man and in support of the family was organized this Thursday. Nahel’s mother was present.
