1,311 arrests
A total of 1,311 people were arrested overnight from Friday to Saturday in France during the fourth night of violence following the death of Nahel, killed on Tuesday by a police officer, said the Interior Ministry.
This figure is a marked increase compared to the arrests of the previous night which had concerned 875 people, according to the ministry.

Three police officers injured by shotgun fire in Lyon
At least 79 police officers were injured during riots in several cities in France, according to the French Interior Ministry. According to Le Parisien, in Lyon, three police officers were hit by an individual who was passing by on a scooter and who shot them “with a long shotgun””.
“We have crossed a threshold, we have crossed the red line”, alerted Alain Barberis, departmental secretary Alliance Police du Rhône. “Here it’s unheard of and it’s very worrying.”
The police officers involved were shot in the groin, right thigh and cheek under the left eye. They are unable to work for five to nine days. The Lyon public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation.

Clashes and looting in Marseille
Looting, throwing projectiles at police vehicles, tear gas: a few days following the death of young Nahel during a police check, Marseille experienced a very tense night between Friday and Saturday, the Minister of the Interior deciding to send reinforcements.
In total, the toll is heavy: 95 arrests, 31 injured on the side of the police, most of them light, very many garbage can fires, three burned vehicles and many shops looted, according to the police headquarters of Bouches- of the Rhone.

994 arrests during a fourth night of violence
Some 994 people were arrested overnight from Friday to Saturday in France during violence of a “lesser intensity”, four days following the death of young Nahel, killed on Tuesday by a police officer, the French Ministry of Health said on Saturday morning. ‘Interior.
