Pierre Veyres, regional director of BNP Paribas, supervises the 170 branches, 8 private banking and wealth management centers and a business center for large companies in his territory: South Region, Gard, Monaco and Corsica. BNP Paribas Sud-Est is aimed at individuals, professionals and businesses. In total, nearly 650,000 customers are supported by 3,000 caring employees, because, as in any field, there is competition.
Ancrage local
Especially in the regions, because BNP Paribas has this reputation that precedes it of being a national bank. However, it claims a local anchoring, a real involvement at the level of the territory. On the occasion of the annual review, Pierre Veyres underlines this. “Our offer is unique. We are a universal bank, rooted in the territory, close to our customers and we are able to deliver the advice offered by an international bank. It is our strength. We have, in the region, a real trading room, an M&A team [conseil aux entreprises sur leur stratégie de croissance externe par le biais de fusions-acquisitions, ndlr], equity investments, structured financing and all of our services (leasing, factor [accompagnement des entrepreneurs en matière de facturation, ndlr]long term rental…) all managed by local teams. We are really anchored in the territory, we work with our customers by considering their environment.”
More than a bank
For companies, the traditional banking offer is supplemented by Beyond Banking, i.e. services far removed from the bank such as a cyber risk assessment to then set up a dedicated insurance policy. Ditto on the environmental aspect. “We are able to assess the company’s needs in terms of energy and ecological transition to help it build its environmental trajectory. We work in partnership with KPMG’s accountants and a local fintech as well, on these issues. .”
In the same way for individuals, many offers go beyond the simple banking service, such as when you use a BNP Paribas card in partner shops, you get a percentage of your purchase immediately on the account (cashback).
“In private banking, for clients who want to do philanthropy, support a cause, we will look for the best foundation to support corresponding to their criteria and manage the heritage aspect associated with it.”
Pierre Veyres insists on customer focus, which is the bank’s DNA. With trained employees. “97% benefited from four training sessions in 2022. It is important for the bank to have competent advisers on all our products.”
The regional director added that a “substantial” investment has been made in the 2022-2025 growth plan concerning the customer journey.
Form, green
