Versatile reinforcement for our Spreeatheners: Jeremy Dudziak signed a working paper with our capital club on Friday until 2024. Born in Hamburg, he comes to Berlin from SpVgg Greuther Fürth. “Jeremy is an experienced and versatile player who has his strengths as a full-back and is versatile in midfield. He also has a lot of experience and assignments in the 2nd Bundesliga. With him we get a strong professional with a very good technique,” sports director Benjamin Weber outlines the profile of our newcomer. “I am flexible and can be deployed in several positions. When I was young I mostly played in midfield, but I took my first steps with the pros as a left-back – and that’s where I still feel most comfortable,” emphasizes Dudziak himself.
U19 European champions with a lot of second division experience
The new Herthaner made the leap to professionalism at Borussia Dortmund and made his debut under Jürgen Klopp in March 2015 in the Oberhaus. The following summer, the left-footer ventured to FC St. Pauli, where he was under contract for four years. In 2019, the change within the Hanseatic city to Hamburger SV followed. After two seasons, the 1.76 meter man then signed in Fürth, in the past six months he played on loan in the Turkish Süper Lig at Hatayspor. In addition to 156 second division games, the North German can also draw on the experience of 25 Bundesliga appearances – plus one senior international for Tunisia and a total of 42 youth internationals for the DFB. With the U19s, the all-rounder won the European Championship title in 2014 alongside his future teammates Marc Kempf and Marius Gersbeck.
